The Call to Worship and Invocation

I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

Morning Hymn -- Nothing But the Blood of Jesus
Performed by Convocation Choir, Church of God in Christ

Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;
The third day he rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Scripture Reading -- I John 4:9-16
9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.

14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.

15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.

16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come into your Holy presence to say we love you. We bow in humble submission to Your will and to Your way. We thank you dear Father for allowing us to celebrate the birth of your darling Son, Jesus Christ, and to be blessed to be alive at such a time as this.

We pray for those who are sick, shut-in, hospitalized, and stricken with COVID-19. We thank you for touching the lives of those who are in health crisis, those who face a financial crisis, and those who don't know you in the pardon of their sins. In your name heavenly Father, we denounce satin and strive to walk in your will and in your way.
We continue to pray for your intervention in the difficulties that we are having with the status of our Church. We pray that You will restore our Church and give us a greater sense of dedication -- not just to the building, but also to the building of Your kingdom. Give us the direction that will join us in heart and determination to serve you.

As we go through the next few days, we pray that you will be with us. Bless our Pastor, every officer, and every member of First Church. Continue dear God to protect us and lead us to do Thy will. Amen.
