The Call to Worship and Invocation
We come into your house this morning, to praise your Holy Name and to declare that we are holding fast to our faith in You our heavenly Father. We seek your presence with us today and thank you for the new beginnings that we are to encounter in the year 2020.
Heavenly Father, we seek Your joy and magnify your Holy Name. Fill us with Your peace and love today. Amen.

Morning Hymn -- Praise Him
Performed by The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir
Scripture Reading --
21 For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing.
Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious;
23 for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:
24 God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands.
25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things.
26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,
27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;
28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
29 Therefore, since we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and man’s devising.
30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,
31 because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen.
Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;
The third day he rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Altar Call/Pastoral Prayer -- Call Him by His Name
Performed by Damien Sneed & Friends
We are praying for you:
Rev. Keith Johnson, Octavian Rodriquez, Angelikka Carter, James Spaulding, Rev. and Mrs. Braxton, Dwaine Giggans,
Johnie Mae Williams, Christine Ferguson, Rev. Michael Henderson, Rev. Veronica Buckner, Betty Jo Smith, Pat and Monroe Brown, the Family of Cassandra Faire, the Family of Eddie Gale
Loving and Gracious God, Father, we thank You for the restoration of our past glory in Jesus name.
Father we have fallen short of your Word, and we pray for Your forgiveness and for the all-round restoration in our lives through this prayer.
We are ashamed and command that all evil unknown forces organized against our lives to be scattered. We bind the spirit of stagnation, frustration and disillusionment in our lives. We lean and depend on You to open doors and let the light of Your Spirit shine through us.

Father, please have mercy on those who are suffering in these days of the pandemic; bless and keep those who have been stricken by the disease and strengthen their families, friends, and caretakers. We pray for the bereaved families of Cassandra Faire and Eddie Gale. We thank you for allowing us to have known them and for the contributions that they made to us and to the many lives they touched.

As we face the next second, the next, minute, the next hour, the next day -- we pray that your Loving Hand will protect us. It is only the hedge that you keep around us that protects us from this world's ills and we magnify and glorify Your Precious Name. Thank You, God for every blessing. In Jesus Name we pray this prayer. Amen.
