The Call to Worship and Invocation
This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Today we bless your Name, Heavenly Father for the life and love that you have given us. We praise You for the blessings that You so richly bestowed upon us. Amen.
Morning Hymn -- Walking Up the King's Highway
Performed by Fellowship Baptist Church
Gloria Patri
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;
The third day he rose from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
Scripture Reading -- 1 John 5:1-5, 11 (6th Sunday in Eastertide)
5 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Here we are again, gathered around your throne of grace. We come with prayer asking you to forgive our many sins and transgressions. We come with a heart of adoration for you and of thanksgiving for your love and mercy.
Lord some of us have experienced a tumultuous week, filled with confusion and disappointment. While others of us have been blessed to bask in the comfort of your Word. But no matter what our experience we confess that we need your heavenly guidance and direction. We're asking that you lead and guide us, direct our footsteps that we may stay safe from the hazards of this world.
Lord this morning we ask that you look at the young folk in our families and communities. Please, Jesus, keep your loving arms of protection around them. Let them know that no matter how much their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends love them, they've got to come to the admonition of knowledge of you for themselves. Be with them, Jesus we pray.
Now as we approach this coming week, be with us Lord and give us the strength and courage that we need to face this dying world. You are our God and besides you there is none other. These and many other blessings we pray in Jesus holy name. Amen.
